Looking For An Extra Curriculum Activity For Your Child?
It’s time to get creative at The Brick Box.
There’s always so many out of school physical activities for children to do in the area from football clubs to dance schools to martial arts- But what about the creative children who aren’t so sporty?
After working in schools for over ten years delivering after school clubs and workshops we’ve decided it’s time to set up a club for children at The Brick Box which promotes creativity and thinking outside the box.
We’re firm believers that the next generation has been brought into a world that requires unnatural amounts of screen time both in education and at home and we want to give them a break from that with engaging, education and creative LEGO building sessions guided by a Master Maker.
After the success of our Home Schooling Workshops we just had to put on a session for those children that are in school during our usual session times. After all we want to make things as accessible as possible for as many children and hopefully along the way we may even inspire some to be the great thinkers and engineers of the future.
Our 90 minute sessions consist of a mix of creative time and a building activity that is tied to a part of the school curriculum, they’ll learn whilst they play and build, what more could you want. They’ll learn new building techniques to compliment their tasks, improving their LEGO building skills as well.
We’ll explore all sorts of topics from physics to philosophy, economics to art and everything in between. There’s something for everyone.
To keep sessions accessible you’ll be able to pay weekly meaning if you’re not able to attend one week you won’t miss out and for those who visit on a regular basis you’ll be rewarded for your loyalty with your 10th session FREE as well as a Build Your Own Minifigure and a certificate for all of your hard work. (awarded at the end of the 10th session)
Sessions are recommended for children 5-16 years old and all abilities are welcome. They’ll also be varying levels of difficulty to our tasks to ensure everyone is engaged.
Although we have an Enhanced DBS Certificate we must ask for insurance and OFSTED purposes that a parent must be on site at all times.
Younger siblings (under 3) are free with a paying child. We do have some Duplo to keep them busy whilst the sessions take place however if they are joining in the activities we will ask for payment.
Sessions take place at 4pm on a Friday during term time.
